Morningside (2017) is the first full length album from indie pop musician Amelia Murray, who hails from the sheep-infested land of New Zealand. Though she is signed to the Flying Nun record label, her style is noticeably different from the majority of the bands who are also signed to the label such as The Chills, Straightjacket Fits, or Pavement. Fazerdaze’s style sounds just like you’re on a drive in the summertime. She uses reverb-heavy vocals, catchy guitar riffs, an occasional bright keyboard line, and minimal drums that melt together effortlessly and make instantly catchy, laid back songs.

I highly recommend this album, as it is one of my favorites, and I am often hoping that she will release another great album. At the moment her discography only consists of a self-titled EP and Morningside, but even with just those, she has managed to attract quite the audience, playing shows all over the world with bands like Alvvays and Mac Demarco.
If you wanna listen, I would recommend the tracks Little Uneasy and Lucky Girl because they’re both just really fun to listen to and they come with music videos, so that’s a plus!
