Such special and unique creatures

Yes, of course

They have their flaws

But they also have so much

That makes them so special

They collect pieces of land

And build structures

And paint them beautiful colors

They fill them with their favorite things

They share with all who visit

Who they are and what they love

Without saying a word

They take pictures

To share the ones they love

And to hold memories forever

They adopt other species

Raising them amongst their young

As if they were their own

They get plants and keep them

They talk to them and water them

They give them space to grow

They give flowers to show love

They hold hands to be close

To release happy chemicals

They dance to sounds

They sing to a combination of notes

They smoke dried leaves

Get drunk off old fruit

Ink art into their skin

To preserve it forever

They collect shiny things

They pierce holes in their skin

And adorn themselves with jewels

They sew slews of fabric together

To make outfits for one another

To make each other feel pretty

Humans can speak

They can share stories

They can write pages of writing

Just so someone else can read their thoughts

They make noise to show

That they’re happy

They cry, and they scream

They speak and they talk

They are the few creatures

Who can communicate so well

Creating a way to connect with

Other humans all over the world

They may not be perfect

But they are special

They are unique

They are human
